Well, now. Inuyasha, Seeker of the Shikon no Tama, once again finds it out of his grasp and his dreams shattered.
He called to Kagome to use arrows Kikyou once commanded, once shot him with, and once more a sole arrow separates him from the very jewel he seeks. But hey, at least the boy has ambition; tracing the jewel like that.

Kagome seemed to feel the Shikon's presence. Perhaps it is because it was within her, and maybe because of her connection to Kikyou.
 Hey, a thought! And, it's a short one! ^-^

Remember Kaede burning Kikyou with that jewel? Here's a ponder: Never saw glass burn. It melts, yup, but doesn't burn.
'Shikon no Tama' can translate to 'Jewel of Four Souls'. 'Tamashii' is 'soul', 'shi' can be 'death' or' four'.
Now, when Kagome was born, think someone would've found that there was a lump of glass?
Well, it being made of souls makes it easy to carry. Maybe it came into her the same relative time Kikyou burned it with her.
A special shrine-technique. She did say she'd take the jewel with her, so it being made of souls, absorbed it with her,
and whatever circumstances occurred, sending her back as Kagome. Only, Kagome is different. Hmm, hmm.

And! Okay, the Higurashi shrine stands atop where once the shrine with the Shikon jewel stood.
Now, wouldn't it be really neat if Kikyou; having her burial-type thing occurring there,
would have zemped the essence of the jewel into the keychain one Grandpa
offered Kagome, and then it came into her that way? Still, it's the darn cat's fault. Mmh..

Wait.. now, that centipede demon tore out the jewel.
So, it must've obtained an actual form at some point, maybe when Grandpa
offered the little keychain?   Something to do with that well? Hmm, hmm.
