No harm done

This is an old post from 2006 Feb:
Yup, in week four, these wounds are fading out rather nicely.
Summing it up, I was hit by a dodge ram truck; guy didn't see me.
Brakes after collision and he said 'Holy shit! Are you okay?! I didn't see you...'

On that Monday night, I asked Rus to take some distant pictures of me on the couch.
Rus didn't have the flash on.
I don't really mean to not look cheerful or anything, and wanted one with my eyes closed.
That was the old sling, a torn piece of cloth, until dad bought the last one from Wal-Mart.

I was able to use my left hand to take some hand shots:

The paper bracelet I'd been tagged with
[picture clipped for id nex-wise]

The knuckles

The hand is now like this.

Rus also took this now-clipped shot,

and today the hand is like this.

....
Heh, this wouldn't have been posted if it wasn't for Kirbs' cheerfulness.
I thought I looked so sullen...

As of March 2007, icbc still says I was going too fast on my bike, and I'm at fault for not wearing a helmet [though, in my poor defense, it wouldn't have protected my collarbone, ribs, and back].
Happened the ONE DAY I didn't wear a helmet, sheesh.
The story's still going, though. [ramble beginning ^^;]
I recently received a professional letter wanting to verify the doc request for an MRI scan, asking if the injuries to the back [cracked disc, spine fracture] were due to the accident.
I almost want to scream YES,DUH!
To explain, I've biked and lifted weights for a long time before the accident.
It wasn't until the accident that such activites were hindered, like now I feel like such a little wussy for not being able to leg press 300 lbs.
Drastically lowered to about 100.
Wouldn't my now-bulged back and xrays be proof enough?
Surely I'm not faking injuries.
Ah, yes, Xrays. Like I said earlier, they reveal a cracked disc and a recent fracture at one point.
My back does not curve with scoliosis. That one point and onwards curve is a result of a large impact.
I have to say this sucks- surgery isn't advised at this point;
it would be about a half-year's treatment, and perhaps drugs so my body doesn't attack the metal plate and screws that will be implanted after my back is cut in.
There's a chance that the daily pressure upon my back will be released.
Meanwhile, I'm looking to call the doctor for an okay on if a good hit from a martial arts class [should I take it] would further endanger my back.
I'm enrolled in two dance classes from April through to early June, so may gloss about that in future. ^_^

Oh! Maybe some other babble won't do any harm.
I told the ambulance person and Surrey hospital people that my back felt funny/hurt that day, but they kept to the visible damage of the twisted collarbone.
I sure didn't notice the pain till the day after, and timidly wonder if my simple, quiet thought has any significance at all.
